South Africa’s soul is represented through her people – a long lineage of courageous explorers, fearless warriors, selfless clerics, ‘never say die’ freedom fighters and enigmatic peacekeepers. Since the Cape was first unwittingly discovered in 1488, battles have been fought, new frontiers discovered, unspeakable human suffering endured and the ultimate victory won in democracy.

Guests walk with their tour guide, back to a time long past of the ‘Cape of Storms’ which linked the infamous spice and trade routes of the world. Guests learn more about what it took to be a pioneer in unchartered terrain at a time when both the weather and people were highly volatile.

Acquire a new skill taught by a community led project in Woodstock – one of the oldest suburbs of Cape Town – before exploring the Castle of Good Hope, walk in the Company Gardens, a photo opportunity at Cape Malay Quarter, and discover the secrets of the V&A Waterfront.
